As Heard From Rabbi Avigdor Miller ZT”L
“And all the Maaser” (27:30)
The Torah laws of giving or separating Maaser (tithe) are demonstrations that all things come from the Creator to us, so that we learn that it is not, that we give to Him one tenth, but it is He that gives us nine tenths.
Similarly, “the Seventh Day is to Hashem your G-d” (Shemot 20:9) is a reminder of our gratitude that “Six days you may toil and do all your work.” (ibid.)
The parts of the Korban that are burned on the Mizbeach to Hashem come to emphasize that He is the Giver of the meat that remains for the eaters. So that men should know that they give nothing to Him but what is really His, and that we are His guests and eat at His table.
“Rabbi Elazar of Bartosa says: Give Him from His Own, for you and your possessions are His. And so has King David said, ‘For everything is from You, and from Your own we have given You.’ (Pirke Abot 3:8)
